Please join us for a panel discussion with Stacey Corley, President of the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, and Jeffrey T. Troiano, Partner at Williams Parker, at this Charitable Gift Planners of Southwest Florida program moderated by Susie Bowie, President/CEO at the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation.

A philanthropic gift should be a positive experience for everyone involved, but good intentions don’t always guarantee good outcomes. Structuring a gift so it fulfills the donor’s goals while remaining practical and flexible for the nonprofit requires understanding motivations, legal considerations, and how the organization operates to achieve its mission.

Facilitated discussion will explore common gift structures, why and how gift acceptance policies support a nonprofit’s impact, and conversations professional advisors and nonprofit fundraisers can encourage to ensure a gift has lasting impact.

    Key learnings include:

    • An overview of the role and content of gift acceptance policies
    • Insight into which financial instruments commonly provide the most opportunity for maximum impact
    • Questions for advisors and nonprofits to ask and encourage when developing a planned gift
